Board of Regents
--The sixteen members are elected by vote of the Assembly and Senate.
The Regents adopt education policies, develop testing and teacher
certification requirements and set learning standards that apply
to all schools in the state including NYC public schools. They also
make budget and legislative recommendations to the Legislature.
Each Regent represents a county or several counties as noted below.
